Currently I've been intrigued by the works of Jay deFeo, Perle Fine, Joan Mitchell and other artists I saw at the Denver Art Museum. I was so impressed by their command of color and texture, and in most basic terms, their general confidence conveyed with every stroke. It's admirable.
The shadow boxes of Joseph cornell
I find Joseph Cornell so interesting because he takes seemingly different objects and papers, but ultimately creates a beautiful unity between each piece.

Collage
Collage is a family tradition. I remember sitting with my mom and sister, flipping through endless Nylon magazines and tearing out pages we thought were "pretty" and putting them together on paper with Elmer's glue. Though what I consider to be "pretty" may have changed, I still love putting together different images. I aspire to the level of Sarah Eisenlohr and Adam Hale with their surreal based collages.
